Well, today is a new day.
I hurt like hell.
I’m so tired of this nagging pain, it’s too much I tell you.
*Superstition *by Stevie Wonder just went off, followed by Ex-Old Man by Kristen Kelly.
So, do you believe in magic?
I do.
It’s everywhere!
It’s in the feeling of walking into your home after a long, hard day, and collapsing on the couch in utter exhaustion, yet there’s this feeling of complete contentment. Because your home.
It’s in the smell of fresh cut grass, that invigorating scent that can take you by surprise and make you truly happy.
(The Joint by Eric Church just came on.)
It’s in the the smile of a small child, an innocence that cannot be controlled or tamed or bottled up.
It’s in the purr of a cute kitty, so sweet with contentment upon its face.
It’s in the wagging of a dogs tail, his/her indescribable joy at seeing his buddy (you) coming up to see him/her.
(*Anthem For The Underdog *by 12 Stones just came on)
It’s in the laugh of an old man, his knowledge of the years etched across his face, his wisdom of things you’ll never understand brimming in his eyes.
It’s in the gentle touch of a mothers hand. That one healing thing that can make everything okay, no matter what.
It’s the sensation of a Sunday morning cookout, a gathering of people you know and love, talking about anything and everything under the sun, enjoying the food prepared.
It’s in the cry of a new born baby. Springing to life a new form in this world, with so much potential and energy. A new human to this old world.
It’s in the feeling you get when you work/play in the yard with your old man, doing whatever it is you guys do in the yard, whether it’s picking up tree limbs or throwing a ball around.
It’s in the last breath of a person. In the last moments of their existence on this earth as a living being.
It’s in down pouring of a hard rain, cooling the earth and feeding it much needed moisture.
It’d in a gentle fall breeze, making you smile for no reason at all that you know of.
It’s the feeling you get when you stand up for what you believe in, even if you are standing alone.
It’s in the plans of vacationing with your loved ones and/or friends. Those special moments that may never happen again.
Its in those moments you look back at pictures. Seeing who you were and how it’s made you become who you are. The emotions of seeing everything as it was.
It’s in the pleasures of watching your favorite movie.
It’s in the mouth watering taste of your favorite foods, desserts, snacks, and candies.
It’s in the feelings you feel when listening to your music, letting it take you over.
It’s the moment of your first concert.
(*Name *by the GooGoo Dolls is on now)
It’s that thrill you feel when doing something you’ve never done before.
So much more than I’m naming here, that is magic.
May sound boring to some, but i think it’s extraordinary.
We are creatures built to and from magic itself, if you will. We are being that hold the key to greet wonders, and we alone can fulfill our dreams and wishes.
Make those dreams and wishes count.
For they will only happen if you believe they will.
Maybe I’ll believe that today will get better and I won’t hurt so bad.
Yeah, that sounds good.
